The regular meeting of the Clay-Platte Scottish Rite Club was opened at 7:00 pm by President Ron Hewitt in proper form on April 16, 2007, with prayer by the Chaplain, Virden Daugherty, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to our Flag. There were 12 members, 8 ladies and no guests present.

Guest Speaker: Our speaker was Kevin Hampton who spoke on “The Cowan and the Eavesdropper”. A copy is on file with these minutes.

Sickness: Ill. Brother Sammy Rhoades is hospitalized with heart problems. Mrs. Peggy VanVacter is under a doctor’s care. It was noted that Ill. Brother Everett L. Davis, 33º and Brother Felix Budzinski, 32º KCCH as well as ‘Pete’ Shifflett, Past Master of Barry Lodge had died.

The Minutes of the March 19, 2007 meeting were approved as published. The Treasurer reported receiving $60,00 [dues] and no expenditures for a closing balance of $621.00. The report was approved.

Old Business: There was no old business.

New Business: No New Business was presented

Remarks: It was noted that Ill. Brother Brent Morris, 33º Grand Cross would be speaking at the Scottish Rite building in Topeka, Kansas and several of the local brethren would be in attendance. There was discussion of visiting the Raytown Scottish Rite Club meeting.

The meeting was closed in regular form at 7:40 pm.

Dues for 2007 in the amount of $15.00 are now payable. Dues can be mailed directly to the Treasurer; OR BETTER turn them in when you attend the next meeting! If you are not sure of your dues status, check with the Treasurer.
