The regular meeting of the Clay-Platte Scottish Rite Club was opened in proper form at 7:00 pm on November 10, 2007 by President Ron Hewitt, with prayer by the Chaplain, Virden Daugherty, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to our Flag. Brother Kevin Hampton read the Scottish Rite Creed. There were 15 members, 12 ladies and 2 guests present.

Guest Speakers: There was no guest speaker.

Sickness: Brother Frank vonGeyso fell with his ladder and broke his leg: the staples are to come out today. It was noted that Darrell E. Shubert [the son of Brother Ed Shubert] died October 17, 2007 and the daughter of Brother Mel Sanders, Sandra Sheets also died

Minutes: The Minutes of the October 15, 2007 meeting were approved as amended. The Treasurer reported an October balance of $510.00, receipts [dues] of $130.00 and expenditures of $132.52 and a closing balance of $507.48. The report was accepted as presented.

Old Business: The Club gave 21 tickets to the Shrine Circus to Hillcrest. A number of gifts for Hillcrest food pantry were received and will be properly delivered. Brother Ray Long, Chairman of the Nominating Committee read their report recommending the following as officers for 2008: President – Kevin L. Hampton, Vice-President - Daniel E. Woehrman, Treasurer – Cody T. Hines, and Secretary – Ronald C. Hewitt. Following a call for other nominations, there were none, they were elected by acclimination.

New Business: It was announced that installation of officers would be at the December meeting.

Remarks: We were pleased to welcome Brother Frank Lukenbill and Sue as new members. It is always good to have Brother Dick and Fern Moses [parents of Chris Hewitt] with us again. The “Blue Plate raffle” was won by Dan Woehrman for a total value of $130.00. Valley and Lodge activities were noted.

The meeting was closed in regular form at 7:55 pm.

Dues for 2008 in the amount of $15.00 are now payable. Dues can be mailed directly to the Treasurer; OR BETTER turn them in when you attend the next meeting! If you are not sure of your dues status, check with the Treasurer.

Speaker: We will have our installation of officers rather than a speaker.
